CNA938 Radio Interview: Q&A on Children Health/Mental Health – Coping with PSLE during Covid-19

Covid-19 has posed different challenges for Singaporeans from all walks of life. In this radio interview hosted by Lance Alexander and Melanie Oliveiro, the focus was on the children taking their Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) this year, and how these children and their parents are coping with preparations for the exam during Covid-19.

Dr. Petrina Wong, Consultant Paediatrician (Respiratory & Sleep) gave tips about how parents can help their child stay physically active and mentally alert during Covid-19:

  1. While at home, parents can encourage children to stay active through family activities such as simple stretching or jumping exercises in the morning before starting their Home-Based Learning (HBL), or ball games in the afternoon.
  2. Heading outdoors, to open spaces away from crowds is another option for parents to keep their child healthy.
  3. Having a well-balanced diet with wholesome foods, and staying hydrated
